Tracer Study

A tracer study which is perceived as an alumni survey is implemented by universities to gather information (feedback) pertaining to the graduates’ academic journey, from the end of their study to the times when the survey is carried out. The information acquired from a tracer study is useful for a number of evaluations of higher education (HE) output, accomplishment and HE quality assurance and relevance, information for stakeholders, and completion of higher education accreditation standards. Such feedback will also be beneficial for universities to plan business and industry so that the gap between campus life and job demand can be narrowed.

On this basis, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (henceforth UNJ) conducted a tracer study program to determine the absorption, process, and position of our campus graduates in the workplace, allowing our campus to prepare graduates with the necessary competence required in the workplace and assisting the government in mapping and adjusting work demand with the competence acquired from universities.
